Performance Evidence

Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:

locates and applies relevant legislation, documentation, policies and procedures

implements the requirements, procedures and techniques for the safe, effective and efficient monitoring and coordinating of waste and process water treatment including:

identifying and managing hazards

handling and managing hazardous goods

selecting and using the required tools and equipment

using electronic monitoring and metering systems

using manual chart recording systems

using laboratory testing and sampling equipment

using computerised equipment

interpreting reports

identifying and using pipes and fittings/pumping and valve systems

identifying and using mechanical and electrical control systems

identifying and complying with shutdown and recharging requirements

works effectively with others to undertake and complete the monitoring and coordination of waste and process water treatment tasks that meet all the required outcomes including:

providing clear and timely instruction and supervision

maintaining written information and records for chemical supply and usage

operating communication equipment

organising work activities to meet all task requirements

demonstrates completion of the monitoring and coordination of waste and process water treatment that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:

collecting samples and conducting and analysing process tests

conducting routine plant inspections on schedule

conducting calculations to determine process performance

using, handling and storing chemicals

assessing requirements for and conducting chemical dosing
